Positive Thinking Bhagavad Gita

The Bhagavad Gita is one of the most revered texts in Hinduism. It is a part of the Mahabharata, and is considered to be a sacred text.

The Gita contains 700 verses, and is set in a narrative framework of a dialogue between Pandava prince Arjuna and his guide and charioteer Krishna.

At the start of the Dharma Yuddha or righteous war between Pandavas and Kauravas, Arjuna is filled with moral dilemma and despair about fighting his own cousins whom he does not wish to kill.

Krishna counsels him that he should do his duty as a warrior and fight, but also reassures him that it is alright to be reluctant to kill if his intentions are pure.

The Bhagavad Gita presents a synthesis of Hindu ideas about dharma, theistic bhakti, karma yoga, jnana yoga through dialogues between Krishna and Arjuna taking place on the battlefield of Kurukshetra just before the start of the Kurukshetra War.

The text also elaborates on Samkhya philosophy through Arjuna's questioning of these principles from Krishna.
